This article discusses the existing designs of wedge devices for separating
a block of natural stone from an array using hydraulic rock splitters, as well
as wedge mechanisms used in other areas of the national economy. Here their
purpose, the essence of the equipment used and their design, their advantages
and disadvantages are briefly revealed.
For the wedge dril methods of separation of blocks of stone from the array, a
comparative analysis of various designs of embedded parts of hydraulic wedges
designed to create a directional split of the stone in order to improve the surface
quality of the plane of the split and reduce the effort spent on the split, both
for hydraulic wedges produced by various manufacturers, and the proposed
structures to solve the problem of separating the block of stone from the array.
