The work reveals the relevance of using a current frequency converter in the tool
feeding mechanism of a line drilling machine BS-32. The design of the feed mechanism
is briefly reviewed. The results of calculating the operating modes of the electric
motor and the operation of the mechanism as a whole are given, where the ranges of
variation of the speeds of movement of the drilling carriage and the speed of rotation
of the electric motor are determined. The results of the analysis of the most popular
current frequency converters are presented, a comparison is made in terms of their
functionality, cost and purpose, their advantages and disadvantages are identified
and compared. Based on the results of the analysis, the necessary functionality of the
frequency converter was determined for its use in drilling operations. Also presented
are the basic recommendations for the selection and operation of current frequency
converters in relation to drilling machines.
