Abstract

This article discusses various ways of loading during the extraction of a block of natural stone during its separation from the array by splitting. Here we consider options from the simplest method of splitting, where manual wedges are used, to a mechanized method in which more complex devices are used. At the same time, methods of static and dynamic loading of executive bodies (wedges, spacer cheeks) are considered. The constructive solutions of tools and devices with various methods of splitting are considered and analyzed. The advantages and disadvantages of these methods are revealed. Based on the analysis of the above, a variant of a shock-wedge device for separating a block of stone from an array by splitting and processing solid material is justified and selected. A design scheme of a shock-wedge device has been developed, combining the drive of a variable-structure impact mechanism with dynamic coupling and the executive body of a hydraulic wedge.
