IMPROVEMENT OF DESIGN SOLUTIONS OF THE IMPACT ASSEMBLY OF THE JACKHAMMER

In this article presents the results of laboratory and field tests of a jackhammer with a two-crank-slider mechanism of variable structure. As a result of
the tests, shortcomings in the design of the jackhammer were revealed. Technical
solutions are considered that make it possible to separate the shock mass from
the drive lever mechanism. It is shown that the most efficient of them is the impact
mechanism with a split slider with an air cushion. The air cushion has a positive
effect on the dynamics, in particular, the negative effect of shock loads on the
drive and on the links of the percussion mechanism is reduced. A new scheme of
a crank-slider mechanism with a separating slider is proposed. According to the
proposed new scheme of the impact unit, a design of a jackhammer with a split
slider with an air cushion has been developed. The design features of a jackhammer with a split slider are reflected.
