Abstract

The main task of correlation analysis is to determine the presence and significance of the relationship of random variables. Technical test planning operates with non-random input parameters of the cutting mode and random output parameters the results of measurements. Therefore, the development of methods for correlation analysis of the presence and significance of the relationship between non-random input parameters of the cutting mode and random measurement results of technical tests is an urgent problem. The paper confirms the theoretical prerequisites for the normality of the distribution of the results of measurements of hardness according to the Gauss law. The possibility of applying the methods of correlation analysis of the presence and significance of the relationship between non-random input parameters of the cutting mode and random output measurement results is substantiated, and a dependence is proposed for calculating the coefficients of their linear correlation. The magnitudes and significance of the correlation coefficients are determined when machining with drills of various accuracy classes.
