The role of S. Abdraimov in the formation and development of the theory of mechanisms variable structure

The article deals with the emergence of the concept of «variable structure mechanisms», the definitions of these mechanisms known to date, as well as the beginning of the works of Kyrgyz scientists in this direction. In Kyrgyzstan for the first time the concept of «variable structure mechanism» was used by Professor S. Abdraimov in connection with the application of percussion mechanism of the drilling machine for drilling the soil of the Lunar surface in presses for metal pressure treatment. However, in order to use this mechanism in presses, it was necessary to make changes in the scheme of the mechanism, as well as in the methods of calculation. In this connection, under the scientific guidance of S. Abdraimov, studies on the development of theoretical bases of calculation and practical use of mechanisms of variable structure were initiated. In the article, in chronological order, the contribution of Kyrgyz scientists to the development of theoretical developments of variable structure mechanisms and their practical realization is given.
